Mike
Logsdon, President
Mike graduated from Texas Tech
University in Lubbock, Texas with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
degree. While attending Texas Tech, he was invited to become a
member of the landscape architecture honor society Sigma Lambda
Alpha. Since graduation in May of 1983, Mike has been involved
in the landscape design/build field, creating and implementing
quality, award winning swimming pool and landscape projects. Mike
is an associate member of American Society of Landscape Architects
(ASLA).
In 1985, Mike moved to San Antonio, where he
has been responsible for the designing, budgeting, estimating,
contract negotiating, and implementation for both residential
and commercial landscape projects. During this time, he has
gained an invaluable reputation as an expert in specialized
concrete applications and structural landscape construction
(hardscape). As a result of his expertise, Mike's travels have
taken him to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee,
Mexico and Spain for consulting, installation supervision, and
personnel training in the applications of specialized concrete
hardscape.
In 1994, Mike began work with a San Antonio pool
company as an independent swimming pool designer/consultant,
designing, selling and implementing over a million dollars of
pool, spa and fountains each year. Relying on his education and
background in landscape architecture, Mike quickly become one
of San Antonio’s top swimming pool designers.
Eager to go on his own, Mike opened Land Design in 2001. In
addition to pool design and building, Mike and his team added
full landscape design and installation services, along with other
amenities such as outdoor kitchens, casita's, pool houses, firepits,
fountains and more. Land Design's offerings were an instant success,
particularly with clients seeking very distinct, upscale results.
No detail is overlooked, and as a design-build firm, Mike's
projects maintain a perfect blend of harmony and cohesion from one
phase to the next. His unique style and creativity have thus far
earned him over 35 NSPI "Excellence in Design" awards, along with
magazine awards, local Builder's Asociation awards and recently
the industry's most elusive and prestigiuous award, "Masters of

Nick Thompson, Design/Sales
Nick Thompson has joined the design/sales team of Land Design after graduating from Oklahoma State University last May with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. While attending OSU, Thompson was a member of the Landscape Architecture Honor Society (Sigma Lambda Alpha), and received a scholarship from the organization for “The Most Outstanding Landscape Architecture Student,” while competing against all the Landscape Architecture students in the state. Upon graduation he had also joined the President’s Honor Roll. He joins the team after completing two internships with the firm during his last two summers in school.
Thompson recently won a Gold Medal at the Region III APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) show for his design in the Residential category. His design included a pool/spa combination that is naturally shaped with a boulder spillway on the spa and a multileveled deck for entertainment.
He also has just completed a program offered by the Boerne Chamber of Commerce called “Leadership Boerne”.
Before and during college, Nick worked in the field of residential construction. Here he learned about construction methods and techniques. For the last two years he has interned at Land Design, learning about design master planning, pool and landscape design, budgeting, estimating, sales, construction, and specialty concrete. Here he has helped to design many award-winning pools, and turn clients' heads as a designer and friend, bringing passion and excitement to their projects. |
